Analysis Notes
| General |
Only pages 12-15 and 21 are dealt with here. |
| Implied in this story is that the Imperiex probes destory the various planets as they come upon them. Obvioously, doing so to Daxam would disrupt the future of the DC universe. Rather than being destroyed, Daxam is incorporated into Imperiexs ship as a power source or rather, the populace becomes a power source, with the planet used to hold the people until the planet is rescued in JSA: Our Worlds at War #1. |
| 12-15 |
Relatively few views of Daxam itself have been seen to date; the primary other 20th/21st century source was the Valor series. Most other references to Daxam have been with individuals: the observers during Invasion, and Daxamite woman from Wonder Womans adventures in space, or the Daxamite in Kandor. Daxam has usually been seen to be at least retiring and standoffish, if not outright xenophobic. |
| 12:3 |
Prior to the 30th century (in the current continuity), they have been known as a world with advanced bio sciences. This scene would seem to fit with that. |
| 13:1 |
These suits bear a striking resemblance to the Black Zero warsuits seen on pre-explosion Krypton. Even more, though, they bring up strong echoes of the 1980s Marvel series, Rom: Spaceknight, where the best and brightest of the youth of Galador gave up their humanity to be encased in robotic armor, in order to fight against the Dire Wraiths. Then again, given that the threat of Imperiex as a devourer of galaxies and its probes smacks you right upside the head, screaming Galactus and his Heralds, the echoes of other Marvel characters may be anything but accidental. |
| 13:2 |
Ill give them this: the view of a hundred thousand warriors as a cloud or sheet of matter in space like this is an impressive observation. |
| 14/15 |
This sort of massive destruction of the best of the younger generation on Daxam may be a lead into the lessened technology and almost nomadic lifestyle seen there in the 30th century. This may start the planet-wide degradation to that end |
| 21:3 |
That is Ish-Tar in thge Daxamite ship. Juns fate is unknown. |
| 44-45 |
Curiously, despite three pages being dedicated to their role in the armada, there is no mention of the Daxamites whatsoever among the list of allies. |
