Analysis Notes

General General There are no page numbers in this story. Since the pages in Legion Worlds #1 were numbered sequentially though the issue, we'll do the same here.  Thus, these are pages 31-38.
31:2 The Ranzz farm apparently grows both corn and apples.  Probably other crops, too, with harvest year round, this being an agricultural world.
31:3 Recall from the first story in this issue that Winath is 95% covered by a canopy of winwood trees.  Periodic openings in the canopy appear or are created, allowing sunlight and ship traffic to pass through.
32:2-3 Apparently Dalya sprang up out of one of the mechanical objects.  The art didn’t transmit that very well.
32:1-3 “Dalya” and “Lilya” as Ayla’s mother and aunt.  If the names were slightly different — “Dayla” and “Liyla” — it would appear than names on Winath (or at least in the Ranzz family) are generational.
32:4-5 Ha ha ha.  On a world of twins, why would anyone use such a hoary old joke any more?
32:6 “Kirth”: note the final phoneme similarity to Garth.  The name similarities to their parents would have only made things harder on Mekt.
The other Ranzz relative we know of is “Aunt Ryth.”  Given the naming of Dalya and Lilya, despite them being from a different family line, it seems likely that Ryth is Kirth’s twin sister (and thus opposite-gendered twins may run in the Ranzz family).
32 Note the characterization of Ayla’s mother as a bit more forward and active, even tomboyish.  Apparently Ayla takes after her.
33:3 Vyrga is Gates’ homeworld.  A similar note about the situation there was seen in Legion Worlds #1 (story #2).
33:5 Twenty years is probably an exaggeration, as the Ranzz’s were seen living somewhere distinctly different from this farm in Legends of the DC Universe 80-Page Giant #2 (story #7).  It could be about fifteen years, though.
34:1 It’s only been a year or so since off-world travel became difficult.  The must be a media exaggeration: if the problem isn’t alleviated, yeah, they’ll have a problem eventually, in a hundred years or so.
35:1 Similarly, why should things be so much worse on Cargg (unless they were already worse there)?  Their population isn’t really three times the size.
35:4 One wonders what this stuffed creature is supposed to be.  Teddy bears are usually superficially identifiable as bears; perhaps there is a native Winathian creature which this vaguely resembles.
35:5 Murder?  Did Mekt kill someone in <Legionnaires #30>, or perhaps before that, or does this sentence reflect his killing of the Lightning Beasts on Korbal?
36:3 Dalya doesn’t even know that Ayla is on her way back to Winath.
36:4 Ayla has lived as a solo before, separated from Garth for almost a year across a gulf of a thousand years, while trapped in the 20th century.  This has probably actually been less horrible for her than Dalya might think.
36:5 There are indications — the flashback in Legion of Super-Heroes v4 #0 and the scene in Legends of the DC Universe 80-Page Giant #1 — that Mekt’s problems were around prior to the accident on Korbal.
There is no way to tell if the woman in the lower right picture is Dalya or Lilya.
36:6 There is no way to tell which of the Ranzz kids this is.
37:1-4 Dialogue is from Dalya.
37:5 At this point, Garth was still alive.
38:6-9 Note that they got Ayla’s clothes color correct from the first story in this issue.  However, Mekt had been accompanying her in 11:5.  He must have gone off on some other errand just before 38:6.
