Analysis Notes

General Only pages 7:4-8 and 10-14 are dealt with here.
11:5 Don’t trust Mordru.  “Hector” as a name means “stay” or “restrain”, coming from Greek roots; Hector was a character in The Illiad.  Mordru is using a Middle English derivation, “to harass or disconcert.”
13:4 Mordru’s origin is as a prince on Gemworld, corrupted by Child and Flaw, agents of Chaos.  Extant’s origin is as Hank Hall, half of Hawk and Dove, whose powers were bequeathed by lords of Order and Chaos as an experiment.
Note the interesting confluence of names: Hector Hall is now using the powers of Nabu, a Lord of Order, while Hank Hall (no known relation) is using the powers of Chaos.
14:4 When Hector became the Sandman, he took Lyta (aka Fury) into the Dreaming with him, where she got pregnant by him after he died there (don’t ask), and later gave birth to a son, Daniel.  Daniel later became the successor to Morpheus.  (Hector doesn’t know any of this, though, since he was dead at the time.)
14:5 The last time Lyta was seen, she was living in Los Angeles.
14:6 Of course he does.  He knows.
