Analysis Notes

1 Jimenez riffed on his own work for this page: this is an almost exact copy of his cover for Legion: Secret Files #1.  The substitutions are Wonder Woman/Saturn Girl, Martian Manhunter/Ultra Boy, Superman/Cosmic Boy, Power Girl/Apparition, Warrior/Live Wire, Captain Marvel and Atom II/Brainiac 5 and Koko, Big Barda/Ferro, and CM3/Triad, with Invisible Kid left out in the cold.  Even the majority of the poses are the same.
18/19:11 A duralim rod was the superconductive item which Saturn Girl intended to use in the Legionnaire’s attempt to revive the comatose Lightning Lad, way back in the Adventure Comics days.  Proty, of course, took her place and sacrificed its life to restore Lightning Lad.
Impulse’s “thought icon” is of a kite attracting lightning, a lá Benjamin Franklin.  His reference to “level nine” is indicative of his fixation on video games; Bart spent the first couple years of his life in a virtual reality environment, such that video games are real life to him.
Reprints This issue was reprinted in the JLA/Titans: The Technis Imperative trade paperback collection.
