XS is featured amongst other DC characters, singing Christmas carols. Also present are Cain, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Lobo, Hawkman III, Flash III, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern III, and Alfred E. Neuman. Of interest here is that only Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and possibly Flash are apt to be Christian. Cain is pre-Hebrew; Aquaman is Atlantean; Martian Manhunter and Lobo are aliens; Hawkman is Native American (sort of); Wonder Woman worships the ancient Greek gods. I seem to recall commentary by Mark Waid that Wally West and/or Barry Allen are Jewish (but I can’t find supporting documentation); XS would presumably follow suit (and Judaism is the only 20th century religion thus far seen to have survived into the 30th century, in Leviathan’s funeral). Alfred E. Neuman is unquestionably atheist or agnostic — “What, him worry?” |
