PansexualWestward Bound
Maritime Labour Centre (1880 Triumph St., Vancouver, BC) / $175 ($150 for MVK, Sagacity, CSPC, Northwest Leather Alliance, and Portland Leather Alliance members)
Hotel: Holiday Inn Express (2889 East Hastings St., Vancouver, BC)
All of our workshops and parties will take place at the Maritime Labour Centre.  There will be parties held both Friday and Saturday nights, in our 5,000 square foot dungeon space.  Admission to both play parties is included in the conference ticket.  However, if you are unable to attend the conference, tickets for the parties will be sold at the door and we invite you to join us for the parties.
The classes will be structured into four tracks: D/s, Alternative Sexuality, Upper Level Skills (Hell Track) and, of course, Rope . We will have classes that cover a broad range of topics that will be educational and interesting to a wide range of participants… we know that everyone will take away some knowledge or new evil, nasty idea from the line up we are building.  We will once again have a vending area, so save your pennies to purchase that perfect something, something!  If you are interested in vending at Westward Bound, please email us at contact@westwardbound.org.

Jupiter Hotel Dream Box Room (800 E Burnside, Portland), 2:00-4:00 pm (door @ 1:30 pm) / $10 ($5 for PLA members)

PansexualMax’s Bondage Workshop
Center for Sex Positive Culture, 2:30–5:30 pm / $35 (+$10 to attend Bondage is the Point at 6:00 pm)
Theme: Partial Suspension Bondage.  Suspension is perhaps the ultimate bondage — exhilarating, dramatic, demanding, and dangerous.  This workshop covers "almost" suspension, where the person being tied stays on the floor but with a vertical line taking some of their weight.  You’ll learn basic vertical-line techniques and will acquire some of the fundamental skills required for suspension bondage.  The workshop covers concepts, equipment, knots useful for suspension, and a number of exciting positions — all with a constant regard for safety.  Much of the class will consist of hands-on exercises to help you get familiar with the material in a friendly, low-pressure environment.  The emphasis is on learning, having fun, and building confidence.  If you can, come with a practice partner . If you don’t have a partner, come anyway and we’ll make sure you get a chance to practice the basic techniques.  Rope Bottoms — this is your chance to meet some rope tops — come learn and get tied up!  This workshop assumes no previous bondage experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.  Please consider this workshop even if you’re already doing suspensions — reviewing the fundamentals can be valuable whatever your skill level.

UnclassifiedBeginning Dungeon Monitors Training
Valhala House (NE Portland), 10:00 am–4:00 pm / $10 ($5 for refresher)
To attend the Beginning Dungeon Monitor Training Course it is recommend that you have the following experience, training, and abilities:
• A minimum of one year of active involvement in the local SM/Leather/Fetish community
• Attended a minimum of 10 SM/Leather/Fetish Play parties (Dungeon Play parties)
• A basic understanding of common play techniques
• A strong desire to continue education about different play styles beyond personal areas of interest
• Be able to act in an emergency situation where physical activity and mental/emotional stability are essential
If you do not have the knowledge and experience suggested, you will still be allowed to take the course and test, but I do warn you that some questions on the test will be on general BDSM knowledge that will not be covered in class as well as on information we cover in class.  I’m not saying this to scare you, but to explain why there are prerequisites.  There is no First Aid/CPR class connected with this class.  We do, however, recommend that DMs have First Aid/CPR certification.
One of the benefits of taking this course, and then becoming part of the PDX DMA, is that this class is recognized by many nationally known SM/Leather/Fetish organizations who accept this Dungeon Monitors training for their events.

LeatherNorthwest Sash Bash
Various locations in Portland
Since the 1980s, members of the Northwest’s leather community have made indelible marks on the world-wide leather scene, whether forming clubs, providing leadership, or through the power of the press.  The current family of International and National Leather Titleholders will help celebrate the Northwest’s history and community.  Northwest Sash Bash will be an event to remember as it plays host to a variety of events, including a fantastic show, a play party, club nights, meals, workshops, and a few surprises!  Mr. Oregon State Leather 2011, Tarsus, Ms. Oregon State Leather 2011, Ms Tracey, and Oregon State Bootblack 2011, Nick, are active members of the local leather community.  We have had wonderful leaders and organizations come out of the Northwest, and this gathering will include not only our own local Leather and Bear titleholders from Oregon and Washington, but also a stellar mix of national and international guests!
Note: Northwest Sash Bash is for the community to meet and interact with titleholders from around the region and nationally.  This is not an event only for titleholders, but for all leatherfolk.  You want a weekend full of leather events but without a contest… this is it!

This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not movie nights, munches, dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Unclassified Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of GLBTQ leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but some play parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the GLBTQ leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the GLBTQ leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to GLBTQ leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to GLBTQ leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).

Send your event details to us.  We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.
We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.
And you damn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings.
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
