Max’s Bondage Workshop
Center for Sex Positive Culture, 2:30–5:30 pm / $35 (+$10 to attend Bondage is the Point at 6:00 pm)
Theme: Partial Suspension Bondage. Suspension is perhaps the ultimate bondage — exhilarating, dramatic, demanding, and dangerous. This workshop covers "almost" suspension, where the person being tied stays on the floor but with a vertical line taking some of their weight. You’ll learn basic vertical-line techniques and will acquire some of the fundamental skills required for suspension bondage. The workshop covers concepts, equipment, knots useful for suspension, and a number of exciting positions — all with a constant regard for safety. Much of the class will consist of hands-on exercises to help you get familiar with the material in a friendly, low-pressure environment. The emphasis is on learning, having fun, and building confidence. If you can, come with a practice partner . If you don’t have a partner, come anyway and we’ll make sure you get a chance to practice the basic techniques. Rope Bottoms — this is your chance to meet some rope tops — come learn and get tied up! This workshop assumes no previous bondage experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations. Please consider this workshop even if you’re already doing suspensions — reviewing the fundamentals can be valuable whatever your skill level.

Beginning Dungeon Monitors Training
Valhala House (NE Portland), 10:00 am–4:00 pm / $10 ($5 for refresher)
To attend the Beginning Dungeon Monitor Training Course it is
recommend that you have the following experience, training, and abilities:
• A minimum of one year of active involvement in the local
SM/Leather/Fetish community
• Attended a minimum of 10 SM/Leather/Fetish Play parties (Dungeon Play parties)
• A basic understanding of common play techniques
• A strong desire to continue education about different play styles
beyond personal areas of interest
• Be able to act in an emergency situation where physical activity and
mental/emotional stability are essential
If you do not have the knowledge and experience suggested, you will
still be allowed to take the course and test, but I do warn you that
some questions on the test will be on general BDSM knowledge that
will not be covered in class as well as on information we cover in
class. I’m not saying this to scare you, but to explain why there are
prerequisites. There is no First Aid/CPR class connected with this class. We do,
however, recommend that DMs have First Aid/CPR certification.
One of the benefits of taking this course, and then becoming part of
the PDX DMA, is that this class is recognized by many nationally
known SM/Leather/Fetish organizations who accept this Dungeon
Monitors training for their events.
