Events produced by Seattle Men in Leather (and which qualify for the club’s Quarterly Activity Sticker) are in bold.
The current week’s worth of the following information is sent out via e-mail on a weekly basis to a number of mailing lists (SML-info, SeattleLeatherMen, PNW_Group, LeatherPDX, BellinghamLeatherMen) and to a few individuals who repackage it for other lists.  If you know of a mailing list which would welcome this weekly message, or if you would like to receive and individual copy by e-mail, please contact us.
For corrections and additions, please contact us.
Please note that the weekly mailing usually goes out on Monday night.
Items received after 6:00 pm Monday may not make it into the e-mail version of the calendar for that week,

Country-Western DanceLine Dance Workshop
Portland Metro Police Club (618 SE Alder, Portland), 3:00–6:00 pm / $10
We are very excited about offering monthly line dance workshops!
We won’t really have a bartender available for this event, so you might want to bring a water bottle.  Also, we will be teaching from the stage level so everyone can see the instruction better.  We will be using a microphone so everyone will be able to hear the instruction clearly.  For those of you who are diehard line dancers, we are considering a weekly 1-1/2 hour event so you have a place to go to dance all the dances you’ve learned.  But we need some feedback on this first.  If you’d be interested in something like this, please let us know.

Theme: So You Want To Tie People Up!  Featuring the Burning Man camp “Suspended Animation”.
So you want to tie people up but you don’t know where to start?  This workshop will teach you everything you need to know to start tying people up.  In addition to technical skills, we’ll focus on the “soft” skills required to put together a successful bondage scene.  We’ll begin by talking about why we do what we do.  There are many different styles of bondage - we’ll help you figure out what you’re looking for and how to make it happen.  Next we’ll move on to a few basic rope techniques.  Our intention is not to teach you a large number of knots, but rather to give you a set of simple building blocks that you can use to construct whatever position you have in mind.  Once you’ve mastered some basic skills, we’ll talk about what to do with them.  We’ll teach several different bondage positions and discuss how to choose a position that’s appropriate for your particular play style.  We’ll also spend some time talking about the psychology of bondage and the steps involved in putting together a fun and successful scene.

PansexualPansexual BDSM Social and Experience: Newcomer Meet and Beat
Center for Sex-Positive Culture, 8:00 pm (social), 9:00 pm–3:00 am (party) / $20, CSPC membership required
Are you new to the CSPC?  Perhaps you’ve fantasized and yearned for years for a safe place to actualize your BDSM thoughts and feelings with others. Perhaps you’ve played for years, but only behind closed doors or alone.  Perhaps you’ve been curious about the BDSM lifestyle but only been able to read about it online or in books.  However you came to the CSPC, we want you to know we’re happy you’ve arrived!  We remember what it felt like to walk through the doors of a BDSM club the very first time.  The Newcomer’s Meet and Beat offers you an opportunity to meet other people who are also new to the club and additionally, chat with some more seasoned public players who will be on hand to answer questions.  If other parties feel too daunting, know that this party is dedicated to you, the new member and folks who are new to BDSM!  In the spirit of the CSPC, we want to help lubricate the path to fulfilling your dreams and desires.  Maybe your new play partner is also a new member and will be waiting for you!

How do you separate the men from the boys?  With a Crowbar.  We’ve got biomen, transmen, boys, boyz, and bois.  We don’t care if it’s detachable, if you’re packing tackle, get your ass in the door.  If your idea of “negotiating a scene” consists of asking, “Top or bottom?” or “Hips or lips?” this is a party for you.  There’s no “social hour” — show up ready to play.
Butch Boi, the toy store for bois, production company and play party producer for hot butches, bois, drag kings, and FtMs in San Francisco is visiting Seattle and teaming up with Crowbar the hottest party for the trans masculine spectrum (from futch to post op/ho trans men) and their pansexual lovers, friends, and admirers.  These two parties will be merging for the first time at the Wet Spot in Seattle and promise a long hot night of play.  Come out and cruz, hook up, play and be a part of the hottest party in Seattle! Don’t miss it!

PansexualRose City Discussion Club Picnic Munch
Vancouver Lake Park (North Heron Pavillion, Vancouver, WA), 4:00 pm–dusk / $2 park entry
RCDC is on holiday this summer though we are co-hosting two Picnic Munches in July.  These picnics are free and open to all kinksters!  RCDC will supply deluxe hamburgers and hot dogs, along with condiments and fixins and we will cook ’em up just how ya’ll like it.  Ya’ll bring beverage and side dish, snack, or dessert to share.
If there is someone taking money at the toll both, pay the $2 and ask for the “North Heron Pavillion”.  After the toll booth, there is a turn-about and just head north (left) to a tree lined parking lot.  Find the single lane dirt/gravel road that has a white sign “Overflow Parking” near the bathrooms.  Drive on the dirt/gravel road and continue to the last blue top metal roof building (North Heron Pavillion).  Parking is on the grassy area right next to the pavillion.  North Heron Pavillion is very nice, cement floor, many undercover picnic benches, running water and sinks, and electricity.  It is the northern most building that has a blue metal roof and can be seen from the road.  There will be kite flying (the erotic kind), whips throwing, and other activities.
PansexualPonies and Pups Social/Support Group
Center for Sex-Positive Culture, 7:00–10:00 pm / $5 donation
Are you a tiger in bed?  Always in the doghouse with your partner?  Have you been told that you’re as playful as a kitten?  When your childhood friends played cowboys and Indians, did you volunteer to be a horse?  If you’ve got an interest in human animal role play, we have the group for you!  Please join us for an interesting and engaging discourse about human animal roleplay from the perspective of both sides.  We attempt to discuss and flesh out the ideas around headspace and the relationship of trust within the structure of animal role-play that can be intense and satisfying for all who participate in it.

This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not movie nights, munches, dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Unclassified Events: Also included in the caledar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but approrpiate for or welcoming of GLBTQ leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but some play parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the GLBTQ leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the GLBTQ leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to GLBTQ leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to GLBTQ leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).

Send your event details to us.  We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.
We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.
And you damn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings.
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
